I missed most of the opening, waaah! ... but I did catch and was very impressed with Shane Koyczan:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQbQGn_rqTw&feature=player_embedded"We are more" ... he submitted this youtube and was awarded a main spot to read this prose poem in the olympic opening ceremony! A to Zed ... love it ... makes me want to go there now (oops, not right now, it's friggin cold up there in winter).
You do want to see it-- the producer, David Atkins did an excellent job of capturing the essence of the Pacific NW. Yes the prose was great & in the course of my workday I speak w Canadian clients & they DO use the Z/Zed. We went to Vancouver a few years ago, en route to Alaska & I loved it-- Canadians seem happier to me.
