Today is the anniversary of that awful day in history when 4 students were killed & 9 injured by the National Guard overreacting to War protestors. We need to remember them and this time in history so we don't become complacent.
Ohio ~ CSNY The band put this song together quicky in response to the massacre. The 45 record came in a sleeve with the bill of rights printed on it. Wiki has a write up about it here.
Huh! I don't think I heard Joni sing this song. It was some era history piece you had posted that talked about how Neil Young had written this song & showed a picture of the 45 record cover paper envelope-- with the Bill of Rights printed on it. Black & white, no colored graphics or other art, in a time of psychedelic art & wild colors. Wow!

We definitely do need to remember, always, how heavy-handed state crackdowns can even happen here.
For some reason, I got it in my head that Joni Mitchell wrote that song. I remember her version of it was more forelorn.
