Rest in Peace~ Ted Kennedy

Senator Ted Kennedy has passed away @ age 77.
He did not live to see Universal Health Care come to America, and was not well enough to champion the cause recently.
Ted Kennedy did spend the last few years writing his memoirs, due to be released next year.
Thank you Ted, for your life's work, and for standing up for Civil Rights, Human Rights, Minimum Wage, and Health Care Rights.

One of my favorite Kennedy speeches---
Ted at the podium on the Senate floor "roaring" about Minimum wage.
If you have limited time tune in @ 4:35.

as much as he did politically, i like hearing the personal stories. the jokes he told, the funny stories, the lives he touched.

Jacob~ Wished he could have lived to see public option health care see the light of day--he will be mightily missed.

nonnie~ He lived a full life for sure. Look forward to reading his memoirs next year.

This really feels like the end of an era.

Teddy was so unusual ... to be born into that much wealth and still care so much about the common people. just like FDR, he was called a traitor to his class (an epithet to be worn as a badge of honor). He fought the good fight all his life. For me, his life made John's and Bobby's deaths bearable.

I am very interested in his memoirs and especially if he includes info made available to the family about JFK's murder that will help us understand that dark chapter in our history any better.

At least Ted did keep his moral compass, and I hope his colleagues in the Senate honor his memory, & do the right thing-- pass health care reform with a public option.
