The home team, Univ. of Oregon Ducks had their best season ever-- Won every game, and made their way to the creme de la creme of playoffs, the BCS Championship game.
Auburn 13-0
Oregon 12-0
Heisman winner Cam Newton and the Tigers average 42 points and 497 yards per game.
Heisman finalist LaMichael James and the Ducks have been even better, averaging 49 points and 537 yards
Looks like the Ducks were not all they were quacked up to be. They tucked tails & flew back to Oregon.
Auburn played dirty.
It was a disappointing & sloppy game.
Oh well I can't tell you how much hype they lathered it up locally.... but Oy! After all the blathering... the freaking game was ONLY on cable/dish! So apparently it is all about franchising. Screw the fans.
We went to a local chinese restaurant to watch the game.
Left @ the 4th quarter & listened to the rest of the game on the radio!
Still they had a great season.... & we still love our ducks!
My membership in the proletariat was confirmed with the *exclusive showing* of this game (formerly on one of the major "free" networks) on (by invitation only, i.e., $$$$$ subscription) ESPN. Screw crapitalism.
I even tried to log on to the ESPN 3 web site to watch the game & a pop up message said my IP carrier was not approved (did not pay a hefty fee to ESPN).
The sports monopoly!
WE were satellite refugees.
Worse fricking Allstate was the sponsor.
Those bastards just jacked our home ins by 73%.
Oddly, their add did not say be good customers for 20 years , never make a claim & we will raise your rate by 73%.

I have to root for a team when its name is the Ducks. Delighted to see their success this year.
Duck is about the funniest word in the English language. Funniest school mascot is UC Santa Cruz's Banana Slugs.
If anyone has ever pulled the banana slug handshake on you, you're quick to see the metaphorical possibilities for sports.

Crapitalism indeed.
That's another blog post for another day.
