Justice Delayed

I though about calling this "Dances with Inmates"... but after much legal wrangling, former speaker of the house Tom Delay was given a 3 year prison sentence for his money laundering scheme during the Bush presidency.

From Wiki News:

"The sentence handed down by Judge Pat Priest was originally 8 years behind bars. However, DeLay was allowed to deduct 5 years for the money laundering charge, in exchange for 10 years of community service and 3 years prison time. DeLay's bail was set at $10,000 while his appeal is pending.
In November, DeLay was convicted of funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to other Texas politicians. Although DeLay was found guilty, he denies all charges of misconduct.
"Judge, I can't be remorseful for something I don't think I did," he said.
The prosecuting attorney, Steve Brandt said this non-remorseful sentiment should be cause for more prison time: "He has shown no remorse, no remorse whatsoever...He needs to go to prison, your honor, and he needs to go today."

Too bad they let him pay $10,000 bail to be a free man while he appeals the case, which could take years.
First you have to catch this Air America clip:

If anything, Delay should go to jail for this:

Wondering Fran, if you or I had been convicted of his charges, would we be free and out on bail pending our appeal?

(And, of course, in America there are probably oodles queued and just waiting to dance with this felonious bastard!)

Dada~ No sir! You & I would have our respective asses thrown in jail. Delay is free to drink martinis & watch the sun rise.

WTF with the Dance show have a guest felon?
Besides the fact he's a crusty old guy & bailed out because his feet were injured..... could they not find any decent non-felon to participate?

It will be interesting to see just how long Delay dances around as a free man while appealing?

BTW his actual dancing was appalling.
