This is awesome. I had the honor to meet with and listen to many Iraq war Veterans last year at the Veterans For Peace National convention which was held in Minneapolis just before the Republican National Convention.

These men and women are the most courageous and brave people around. Most of the Vietnam Vets I know, including myself, hid behind a beard and drugs and alcohol in the woods for years before coming out and telling the truth. I admire these people.

Peace.

I like the word play from the original slogan.

You often hear from soldiers who have served in Iraq, how they question the mission.
"Why are we there? What are we doing there."
"There is nothing to win"
"The people in Iraq do not want us there."

I once heard a peace activist give a speech.
"The Draft has already started" he announced....
what he was referring to was the "back door draft"
or Stop Loss.... keeping soldiers in active duty long after their contract had expired.

Could you imagine a 5th deployment to Iraq or the region?

I hope we see more of the likes of this type of support network emerging.

What a great idea. We must help organize and support these people. They are our future. And their experience of the unnecessary war of choice will inform the direction of their political choices in the future. Thus the future of all of us.

It is heartening to see this space put together to support other soldiers, what better place, just outside the huge military base.

Brilliant!
